The Writing and Spelling Collection

The Writing and Spelling Collection (purple borders) are designed in top to bottom list format to introduce young children to top to bottom scanning for information, as in using a dictionary. The components provide letter formation clues and present basic high frequency and other age-appropriate, useful words at a variety of developmental levels. To support learners the photographic images mirror those used in the Alphabet Collection.

Use the Teacher Chart in the same contexts as you would use the Alphabet and Consonant Blends/Digraphs Teacher Charts. Keep accessible within the classroom environment for independent activities in learning centers and in individual and group writing folders or authors toolboxes.
